Scholar360 Makes Learning Outcomes Available to K-12 Institutions At No Extra Cost

Scholar360 Makes Learning Outcomes Available to K-12 Institutions At No Extra Cost

Norfolk, VA (PRWEB) November 23, 2009

Standards of Learning have become a critical piece of K12 education. Overall school performance is essential to maintaining accreditation. Services like greatschools.net publish test scores for K-12 schools across the nation. Administrators and educators feel increasing amounts of pressure to make sure that their test scores are strong and improving. Until recently, matching curriculum to state standards has been a challenging process. Educators often look retrospectively on the past year and try to match the state standards to curriculum that they have already implemented. The lack of intuitive, easy-to-use tools in other software systems has made this a reactive rather than a proactive process.

Scholar360 has just released a new Learning Outcomes Management tool that provides administrators and educators with an easy way to implement curriculum in a manner that parallels, tracks, and assesses progress on state standards. As the course progresses, teachers view how each student performs across all of the relevant standards. This allows the teacher an opportunity to focus on student weaknesses and enhance student strengths.

“The Scholar360 Learning Outcome Management tool puts administrators and educators in the driver’s seat,” said Glen Moriarty, president of Scholar360. “Standards are implemented, tracked, and monitored to ensure progress on all fronts. These easy-to-use tools help administrators and educators feel confident and in control.”

We invite you to consider joining Scholar360. Scholar360 offers:

Unparalleled Personal Support – Scholar360 is a demonstrated leader in its commitment to personalized support for its clients.

Wacky Scholarships The New Craze On Campus

Wacky Scholarships The New Craze On Campus

Scholarships for Everyone

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 14, 2010

It is not only Harvard or Wharton that is doling out scholarships but the unusual and often unclaimed scholarships are doling out millions of dollars every year. These Wacky Scholarships can be for anyone like Cheerleaders, bird watchers and even Star Trek Fans all with the sole intention of making these people practice their skills or simply follow their passion. Mr. Michael Young founder of scholarships2009.com, a leading informational website for Wacky Scholarships, said that many people across the United States miss out on learning opportunities because they do not have enough information about many of the extraordinary scholarships that are doled out by numerous Universities, Colleges and even the Government. The list of unusual scholarships is long and a significant percentage of it is underutilized because people are not aware of it.

In the United States there are opportunities for just about everyone to pay their campus fees. Mr. Michael Young was quoted “In this country there are scholarships for being tall or being a fortune teller, this is simply amazing and I encourage people to gather more information about these and apply.” Scholarships are given for almost everything. From making the best apple pie to being a Golf caddie, you have the opportunity to get a scholarship and head to school. The scholarship system is designed to ensure that the bright do not get left away from education because of financial hardships.

Mr. Michael Young said that scholarships for different races of people have also contributed significantly to the improvement of America. Some of more important scholarships include the African American Scholarships. The United Negro College Fund, Vivien Thomas Scholarship, Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the Ron Brown Scholar program have done a world of good to the African American community in United States. Every year the United States Government gives millions of dollars in scholarships for American students and even those who come to the country for Research and other educational courses. Scholarships have been of immense help for many bright students in the country who have wanted to pursue a profession of their choice. The innovations that happen in United States are to a great extent because students are able to follow their dreams from an early age.

The Military Scholarship Program is aimed at creating the finest defense professionals for the country. Mr. Michael Young said that the aim of scholarships2009.com is to provide as much information as possible about Wacky scholarships which not many people know of. Not many know that the Military Scholarship Program include the Active Duty Scholarships Programs, Montgomery G. I. Bill, Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP), Federal Student Aid and Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC). Mr. Michael Young continued that scholarships will become more easily available with the Government deciding to increase spend on education sector. He advised students to aggressively look out for scholarship opportunities to fund their education. On a lighter note he said that even if you can make the best Apple pie there is a scholarship waiting for you.

Scholar360 Makes Learning Outcomes Available to Higher Educational Institutions At No Extra Cost

Scholar360 Makes Learning Outcomes Available to Higher Educational Institutions At No Extra Cost

Norfolk, VA (PRWEB) November 23, 2009

Higher education is now embracing the need to objectively measure learning. Accrediting bodies are requiring that institutions outline their goals on multiple levels. Administrators and educators are identifying goals for the campus, for programs, for courses, and for individual students. These goals are connected to one another and are typically part of a larger campus-wide plan.

In the past, matching these goals to academic curriculum has been a challenging process. Educators often specify learning objectives in their syllabi. These objectives, however, are often not easily measured, so it is challenging for educators to see how well students are performing against these objectives. Similarly, it is a challenge for the faculty person to view trends in student performance because the data is overwhelming and not easily managed. The lack of easy-to-use and intuitive tools in other software products has made this a less than enjoyable and efficient process for administrators and faculty alike.

Scholar360 has just released a new Learning Outcomes Management tool that provides administrators and educators with an easy way to implement curriculum in a manner that parallels, tracks, and assesses progress on learning objectives. As the course progresses, faculty view how each student performs across all the objectives. This allows the faculty person an opportunity to focus on student weaknesses and enhance student strengths.

Financial Literacy Scholarship Open to High School Students Nationwide Now Through October 21 Revolutionary Opportunity to Win $1250 in Team Scholarship Money

Financial Literacy Scholarship Open to High School Students Nationwide Now Through October 21 Revolutionary Opportunity to Win $ 1250 in Team Scholarship Money

Davie, Fla. (PRWEB) October 18, 2009

Now through October 21, the Financial Literacy Scholarship, administered by the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF), rewards high school students for their financial knowledge. CKSF will award the winning Financial Literacy Scholarship high school team the National Championship Trophy and a total of $ 1,250 – each of the five winning team members will receive a $ 250 scholarship to his or her chosen college. The Financial Literacy Scholarship is one of the revolutionary “team scholarships” in CKSF’s growing list of nontraditional scholarship programs

Like CKSF’s other scholarships, the Financial Literacy Scholarship will be administered through online quizzes. Participants will be required to answer financial questions based on information found on the scholarship sponsors’ website: http://www.knowmoremoney.org. There are three rounds in the Financial Literacy Scholarship: the Financial Literacy Challenge Round, the State Championship, and the National Championship.

Interested high school students can begin by registering on the CKSF website, http://www.cksf.org. When students register, they will automatically become part of their high school’s team. Each high school will be ranked based on the sum of their top 20 student scores and the top schools from each round will advance. All high school students with valid United States mailing addresses are eligible to participate. Students must register and participate by October 21, 2009.

The Financial Literacy Scholarship is sponsored in part by The University of Florida’s Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) student team. As an added bonus to the team-based competition, SIFE will award scholarship prizes to the individual competitors who win the scholarship competition’s first round. Competitors are advanced throughout the competition only as teams; although individuals not part of a larger high school team may win the first round prizes, they will not advance beyond the first round. In the second and third rounds, students win only as teams.

CKSF founder and president Daryl Hulce, explains, “With traditional scholarships, a student decreases his or her chance of winning by sharing contest information. But with team scholarships, the only way to win is by helping others to be successful and win, an important quality we hope extends to these student’s adult lives. This is what makes team scholarships revolutionary in the scholarship world.”

Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF) administers this educational program, and many others, with the mission to create educational and scholarship opportunities in which participants of all levels have a fair and equal chance to participate and be successful. Developed and administered at Nova Southeastern University through the Fischler School of Education and Human Services, CKSF recognizes winners and awards scholarships through the use of internet-based quiz competitions which can be accessed through http://www.CKSF.org. Since its first scholarship program in 2000, CKSF has developed a wide variety of scholarship and academic enrichment programs for students of all ages. Today, CKSF administers several new contests each month and is growing at a rate of approximately 1,000 new students per day.
